My name is Ali and I'm 37 years old, I suffer from Cystic
Fibrosis, Diabetes and renal failure.
I
have a younger sister called Joy who also has CF and Diabetes,
she's my best friend as well as my much loved little sister. I
live near sunny Scarborough with my beautiful cat, Jasmine.
My hobbies are showing my cat at local cat shows, in which I
have won quite a few prizes including best pedigree cat in show,
I also enjoy painting and drawing, writing poems (I have had
three of them published) motorbikes and fast cars.
My favourite artist is Claude Monet, my favourite motorbike
racer's are Barry Sheane and Valentino Rossi, and I love Johnny
Depp, mind you so does half the female planet! Also I love eating Haribo tangfastic sweets.
In 2005 I and my Bagpuss
ruck sack ( Bagpuss goes everywhere with me, as he carries all my
medication and most important the sweets!) took part in the London
marathon and raised £1886 for the CF trust, I did not finish the
marathon but I did do 13 miles of it which was ten miles more than I
trained to do. I have also walked the length of the Leeds/ Liverpool
canal and raised money for the CF trust and the CF unit I attend in
Leeds. I and my faithful Bagpuss ruck sack also took part in the Hydro
active women's challenge in Hyde park London in September with around
60+ women running as part of a team called Emily's Angels. This was to
raise money and awareness for CF and the importance of having a donor
card, and I raised £488 for the CF trust.
